Lovell and CATS Tonometer Prism

The CATS Tonometer Prism is now available on government contract vehicles.

PENSACOLA, FLORIDA, UNITED STATES, November 9, 2022 — The new CATS® Disposable Tonometer Prism (CATS-D) is available through Lovell Government Services for Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Department of Defense (DoD). Lovell Government Services is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and has been a trusted federal vendor since 2013.

The CATS®-D Prism is designed to accurately measure intraocular pressure (IOP). This advanced technology, coupled with improved ergonomics and sterility, provides clinical ease of use and better patient outcomes. The FDA-cleared, patented CATS®-D is made in the USA and seamlessly integrates into VA and DoD clinics.

Saving and preserving sight is the goal of every eye care practitioner. Still, traditional IOP measurement is compromised due to errors caused by corneal biomechanics that affect a majority of patients. Traditional Goldmann prisms “flatten” the cornea, which amplifies intracorneal stress during the measurement process and distorts intraocular pressure. The CATS® Prism has a dual-curved surface that reduces measurement errors caused by corneal thickness, corneal hysteresis, curvature, and tear film. This curvature-matching principle of the CATS® Prism “cups” the cornea, reducing the impact of corneal thickness and corneal biomechanics on the IOP measurement and minimizing tear film adhesion that plagues traditional Goldmann prisms.   Performance is validated by 9 peer-reviewed journal articles. “We are honored to help bring a new standard of IOP measurement to Federal Healthcare. Listing the CATS Tonometer Prism on the FSS, DAPA, GSA, and ECAT catalogs expands access to VA, DoD, and IHS facilities and we are excited to see CATS grow in this space.” – Chris Lovell

Lovell is excited to make this technology more accessible than ever to federal medical facilities; the CATS®‐D Disposable Prism is approved and accessible on all of Lovell’s contract vehicles, including the Federal Supply Schedule (FSS), the Distribution and Pricing Agreement (DAPA) for the DoD, the General Services Administration’s GSA Advantage, and the Defense Logistics Agency’s Electronic Catalogue for Medical Supply Chain (ECAT).  Placing products on contract vehicles with a contract holder streamlines the acquisition process while helping government agencies meet their SDVOSB procurement goals.
